Sure to be a thrilling adventure, Disney revved up audiences with the release of its first trailer for “Oz: The Great and Powerful” on Thursday (July 12).
The captivating footage paints a picture right out of L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel along with the 1939 class “Wizard of Oz,” and audiences get a taste of what’s to come as the characters walk down the infamous yellow brick road.
With Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams on-hand at Comic-Con for the trailer's unveiling, the ladies are joined in the big time cast by James Franco and Rachel Weisz - with the motion picture scheduled to be released on March 8, 2013.
Miss Kunis is very familiar with CG-movies after filming “Ted” and when discussing “Oz” she said, “Oh, my gosh, it was amazing,” she says. “I don’t even know where to begin. Going from Ted to Oz was great, because I got to work with imaginary, inamimate objects. In Ted I practiced that, so by the time I went into Oz it wasn’t so hard to envision things going on around you.”
The brunette beauty added, “Working with Sam Raimi is unlike anything I’ve done in my life. He’s so creative and so incredibly passionate and detail oriented. He so trusts the actors who he hires and has so much passion for every character, for every nuance of the project. He loves film, loves creating movies.”
